Morocco

I went to Morocco this weekend. Despite being a whirlwind trip and a lot of time in a bus, it was pretty cool. I didn't know really anything about Morocco and so I didn't know what to expect. The country (architecture, infrastructure, etc) looks like a combination of Spanish and Arabic countries.

The people are also an interesting mix of tradition and modernity. There are three main religions in Morocco. Muslim is the first and largest but there are also a large population of Jewish people and because of the influence of Spain there are also many Catholic people. In addition to three main religions, there are also three main languages. Most people speak Arabic and then either French or Spanish. The current King is young and considered progressive so he also has instituted that the Bur bur (indigenous) language be taught in schools so that the Bur bur people many be fairly represented and understood.

The mix of culture in Morocco was really interesting and it seems that Morocco has a large investment potential in the future. I could go on for a while about the different things that I observed or learned but that would take too long. Instead, I'll just let you all look at my pictures because, it's like they say "A picture is worth a thousand words."
